Hotel was lovely and room was relatively modern and maid service was fine. Felt breakfast was a bit sparse compared to other hotels and service was a bit questionable. Had dinner at La Locanda one night and food was good but very overpriced and when I ordered wine, albeit a very expensive glass, the sommelier did not offer to allow me to taste the wine before serving it which I found surprising, perhaps not a custom in Japan but I doubt it. The glass also didn't seem to be full, also not pleased given the cost of the wine. In addition, the hotel supposedly had no streaming service but when I asked they actually did have a makeshift service where they set me up with Roku but I needed an Apple account to access it. The hotel didn't offer that service until I asked and requiring an Apple account, which I happened to have, is not the way the hotel should be serving guests that may want to watch streaming services during their stay. While most of the service was good, this was a very expensive hotel that in my view was not in the same league with the other hotels we stayed at in Japan.
