The general consensus is that the property feels tranquil and is an easy walk to restaurants and transit. Many travelers say rooms are spacious, immaculate, and filled with thoughtful touches such as garden-view balconies, signature scents, and soft music. One person noted staff greet guests by name and swiftly arrange last-minute tours, dining, and transport, leading some to rate the service above a nearby Four Seasons. The restaurant and bar earn praise for flavorful menus, while the gym, spa, and omakase-style treatments draw repeated raves; even the learning center and kids’ area impress adults. We very much enjoyed our stay at Six Senses. Everything was top-rate; the staff was warm and welcoming, the spa was superb, the breakfasts were amazing, and the two cocktail bars were great. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and at home. It felt like a small hotel and a respite in a busy city.

Six Senses Kyoto was absolutely amazing. One of the best hotel experiences ever. The service from the moment we stepped onto the property was 5 stars in every aspect. HIGHLY recommend, and we will be looking to stay at other Six Senses properties, when we travel to other locations.

The hotel is beautiful. We wish we could have stayed longer. The service was great as well.

The room was great. It was spacious, had a lovely bathroom that worked for two people, and they provided yummy homemade snacks every day. Overall though, the hotel and vibe was a little strange. The hallways were really narrow, and a few of the floors were underground which felt dark and confining.
