Our recent stay at the Rosewood Phuket was lovely. The resort itself feels like its own separate world. Having a living room, private patio, and our own pool just for the room was amazing. The resort staff were very accommodating, and we would recommend this property overall. However, there were a few drawbacks during our stay. The property is far from the airport, but arranging transportation through the hotel with VIP airport access helped. Before our trip, I worked with the hotel to book spa services, a boat, and an elephant sanctuary. The communication back and forth took a long time and was exhausting, as not all my questions were answered promptly. The concierge service ahead of time left something to be desired, but during our stay, the concierge was good via the chat service. English is not a first language for most of the staff, which led to several hiccups due to the language barrier. The resort feels like its own world, but that means any off-site activities we scheduled were an hour's drive each way, and there was nothing else nearby that felt safe for us. The gate and security guards at the front entrance helped us to feel safe in the area. The three on-property restaurants were great overall with good variety, but the food was on the higher end of the price range, and only one restaurant had an indoor option. The only places with air conditioning were the Italian restaurant and our room. The lobby is open and beautiful, but there is no lobby bar or public place to relax with AC. The resort is spread out on a lot of land, and each room is its own villa, which meant a bit of a walk or calling for a golf cart anytime we wanted to go somewhere, requiring additional planning. The service was good for housekeeping and the restaurants, but it wasn't exceptional. If you are used to Four Seasons or other luxury service where teams anticipate your needs, the service might fall short for you.
