Many travelers say the staff are welcoming, proactive, and handle transportation, upgrades, and requests smoothly. Rooms are large, clean, and come with balconies or mountain views, which most find relaxing. Guests praise the spacious onsen and spa, yet one person noted a slippery uncovered walkway to it during heavy rain. Breakfast earns high marks for quality Japanese and Western choices, but one reviewer wished dinner offered more Japanese dishes and several found food and room rates pricey. The free shuttle to trains and the cable car is convenient when booked ahead, and the general consensus is a serene, restorative stay.

This property was underwhelming. The room was okay except for the shower head breaking before we could even take a shower the very first night. The welcome amenity was 4 strawberries and a card signed by some of the hotel staff. Our Fora advisor mentioned to the hotel that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, but the card said Happy Birthday from some of the staff members. Breakfast was unimpressive, and the chairs in the dining area were all stained. There is a free and convenient shuttle into town and to the train station, but the schedule is limited and is not available until 9:45AM. When we found out that the shuttle would not work for our schedule, we asked the front desk to help book a taxi for the next day, which was a bit challenging as the staff on duty at the time spoke limited English. We stayed at another property during our time in Hakone and would return to that one in the future.

Excellent service and English speaking staff. There was a free shuttle into town that let us avoid hiking up and down steep local roads. Our room came with a mountain view balcony that made the stay memorable. The communal onsen bath was clean and provided a large locker room with towels and hair products. We enjoyed a Sakura-themed dinner that made our stay there special.

1st rate place.

Beautiful location tucked away in Hakone with great service. A bit outside of the "downtown" but serene with good restaurants in the hotel for ease. Was the best daily breakfast of our three hotel sin Japan!

The food and hotel rate were both a bit expensive but the location was very good. Also the room was large and clean. The onsen was large which could be good or bad depending on your perspective. The hotel shuttle to the train needs to be booked in advance but is a large savings.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa Our spa session was fantastic! The massage was so professional, amenities beautiful and the staff is out standing! We enjoyed the Japanese dinner in the tipical Japanese privat dining room - a wonderful experience The room was comfortable, and came with an amazing view
