From the moment we entered the unusual lobby, we knew Fufu was special. There is no "front desk". Instead, one of the concierges took us to a private, enclosed, area to explain the ryokan. We adored our suite with it's sliding doors to a glass enclosed room with our hot spring "pool" tub, with it's own slider to a private patio. In our entry foyer were slippers and sandals. In drawers were our outfits for meals ( if we wanted) - a long sleeve shirt, baggy drawstring pants, and a heavier overshirt. In another drawer was our 2 piece sleepwear, and robes. The meals were all tradtional courses with many of the tables enclosed privately.
