I had a wonderful stay at the newly opened Capella hotel in Kyoto. The property is beautifully designed, with a calm, elegant atmosphere that fits Kyoto really well. Everything felt polished and thoughtfully done. The architecture and interior design was magnificent. The location was the best part of the stay. Being so centrally located between both downtown Kyoto as well as the historic areas was priceless.
This hotel had only been open a month or so upon our visit, but I could not tell. There was no closed off areas, operational hiccups, or challenges that come with newly open hotels. As far the experience, the staff was all very welcoming, the property was goregous, and the rooms were great. We really loved the hotel bar - there were two Bens (one French, one English) that were a delight. French Ben made some amazing cocktails. Would absolutely go back. Great hotel.
